and we frolicked about in our summer skin.

Well guys, I think it's safe to say that today is one of the most stressful days I've had all semester. I'm scrambling around taking quizzes and tests and trying to memorize this ridiculous presentation I'm giving at 4. Suffice it to say, I'm kind of freaking out. But a) I needed a break, and b) still wanted to make a post, so I thought I'd do something short and sweet today. And something summer themed because of the heat wave that's caught on! It's 60 degrees outside, so even though I'm stressed, I can't wipe the smile off my face.

So here it is, five things I desperately want to accomplish this summer:
5. Run a 5k.
I'm not exactly what you would call, ahem, a runner. I can run about a mile and then I call it quits. I'm sure I'm capable of doing more, but mentally, I'm pretty sure I suck, so I stop. I've been running a lot more lately though, and hopefully will work my way up to 3.1 miles by the time I finish off the semester. And when I do, you can bet I'll be registering for some races. I want to be a runner!
4. Go to Coney Island.
This is something my best friend and I have been talking about for years, and this summer, I finally want to make the trip. It's easy, considering all we have to do is get on the N train in the city and ride it all the way to the end. I have such amazing visions in my head of what this place looks like, and I just want to see it for myself! Plus, who doesn't love a good theme park? I mean, honestly.
3. Be the best nanny ever.
I work two summer jobs, one at an outlet mall, and another as a nanny for the two of the coolest kids in the world. My nannying job is full time, so working takes a lot out of me, but this summer, I want to plan some really fun activities. Go hiking, or on picnics, and have all sorts of crazy, cool contests where we have to create things. It's going to be the best...summer...ever.
2.Continue this blog.
I tend to end things just as quickly as I start them. I don't want that to happen with this! I'm going to love and nurture this blog all throughout the upcoming months.
1.Go to Bonnaroo!
Bonnaroo's lineup is amazing this year! Arcade Fire, Girl Talk, Ratatat, Mumford and Sons... the list goes on and on. I want to go so badly but can't find anyone to go with me! I'm dying. I will go.

Happy Valentine's!

Two posts in one day! Whew! We're getting adventurous here!

So I know Valentine's Day was yesterday, but I'm still gorging myself on the candy, so I think this is still appropriate. Plus, I'm alone, and I tend to dwell. At least this year I had something to distract me from the actual holiday: travel. I made this list on the plane: five reasons why Valentine's Day and I have a love-hate relationship.

1. Well, I'm alone, so you'd think I'd be bitter and grouchy from the get-go. But I still have a Valentine: my roommate. So I'm out of love, but not necessarily out of luck.
2. V-Day gives me an excuse to eat ALL the candy I want. And I want a lot of candy. My waistline, however, does not thank me. Nor do my jeans.
3. There's nothing like a sappy romance movie to help you relax. I love curling up in my snuggie (don't judge; it's leopard print) to catch a flick. But at the same time, how many times can Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams make me cry? Honestly. You'd think I'd be immune by now. Obviously, I'm not.
4. I love red, but let's face it--it's just not my color.
And last but not least,
5. I resent the fact that we are no longer required to bring in Valentines for the whole class. That was the best part of the holiday! That, and decorating your shoebox in ridiculous hearts in pink and red so that it would be your little "mailbox." Sigh.

So there you have it. I'm not a total cynic...just half of one! That still makes me loveable, right?

I'm on the right track, baby, I was born to survive.

Hey guys! So over the weekend, I thought I lost my iPod. Suffice it to say, it was not a pretty few days. But today, by some act of God, I found it again! I was amazed! Traveling without music was less than enjoyable, but now she's back. In the spirit of my iPod, here are five songs that I have on repeat right now. Seriously, I'm obsessed!

5. I'll Be Waiting- Adele
Her CD still hasn't been released in the States (one more week!) but I got a copy from Europe and it seriously is amazing. This is my favorite track of the album. It's got such a great beat to it. I even run to it!
4. Just Tonight-The Pretty Reckless
Who ever thought Taylor Momsem would become what she did? Going from innocent Jenny Humphrey on Gossip Girl to this badass Goth rocker child is definitely a jump. She seems kindof annoying (and by kindof, I mean very), but chick knows how to rock. Her music isn't too hardcore, so some of it's really enjoyable. I really like this one.
3. Glee Cast- Bills, Bills, Bills
Alright, don't judge me. I grew up on Destiny's Child. I can spit EVERY. LINE. of the song Bugaboo straight from memory with no help from their recording. So when Darren Criss broke this out on last weeks episode, it blew my mind. Plus, I'm a gleek. I embrace it. Expect many mentions of them to come.
2. The Strokes- Under the Cover of Darkness
After a hiatus that lasted MUCH too long, The Strokes are finally back! And from the sounds of it, it's going to be GOOD! I can't stop listening to this song. It's a great preview of what's to come.
1. Lady Gaga- Born This Way
In the words of my roommate, "I'm GAGA over Born This Way." I'm the first to admit that Lady Gaga, as a persona, is...SO ANNOYING. I'm sorry, but showing up at the Grammy's in an...egg? Who are you? But, just like Taylor, she can sing. Her voice is certainly deserving of all the praise that she gets, especially considering that you don't really need any talent to be famous anymore. (Cough, Ke$ha, cough.) This title track off her upcoming album is so catchy with a great message. I couldn't help but become immediately addicted. Maybe I was born this way?

Okay, that was cheesy.
As you can tell, I've got a very diverse taste in music. Embrace it! I love nothing more than a person who can admit that musicians are talented, even if they don't like the music. Luckily for me, I basically like all types of music. I'm easy to please.

What are you guys listening to lately? Let me know!

the sunshine state.

Hey guys! So even though I just started this, I've taken a few days off for an impromptu trip to florida with my family. (I'm posting from my blacckberry because I don't have my computer, so excuse any typos and such.) I've made a lot of lists this week but right now I'm going to be very basic: Five reasons why the South is better than the North.

1. Palm trees! There is nothing like looking out your window and see those leafy green hands reaching out at you. I'd venture to say that they are my favorite tree, which is saying a lot considering I basically grew up in the forst. Regardless, palm trees are the shit.
2. Sunshine, twelve months out of the year. Its February 13th and I just got back from a day at the pool. Where I come from, if you don't cover your pool it will absolutely freeze once november rolls around, and you don't uncover it until May. But here, its all year round.
3. TANNING! I don't know about you guys, but I am absolutely translucent in the winber. I'm not just pale, I'm straight up GREY colored. Its absurd. So even though I got severely burned today as opposed to tan, I instantly feel better. Its amazing what a little color can do to your life.
4. There is no such thing as S.A.D. For those of you that don't know, that's seasonal affects disorder. And I'm pretty positive I have it. Nay, I AM positive. Even though it was self diagnosed.
5. Old people! This is where they all come to retire, after all. They're all so polite and relaxed, seeing as their only concern is what tee time they're going to get on the golf course. I'm jealous of their lives. I'm not even out of college yet and I'm ready to retire, too.

In other news, though, my sisters and I went to go get facials yesterday. I was the youngest client the woman had seen in a long time. She said most of her clients are between the ages of 75 and 90 and approximately one dies a week. Depressing. But she was laughing the whole time.

Have you guys ever been to Florida? What do you love about it here?

The first list.

As it turns out, the first list is not going to be entirely about fashion. But (as always), there's something in there. Here are the top five things I like today.

5.  The fact that when I left class today at 5:15, the sun was still out! Call Punxsutawney Phil a poser, but this year I think he hit the nail on the head. Spring is coming, bitches. Get your floral prints ready.

4. Mints! As it turns out, I think I'm addicted to chocolate. And candy. And basically sweets of all kind. So I've given them up! (I made it two weeks without chocolate. As a chocoholic, that's some serious stuff.) Therefore, I need a new obsession, and I have turned to mints. But not the red and white ones, the red and green ones. They're so much better.

3. The new Adele CD. I'm officially obsessed. Okay, so maybe it hasn't been released in the states yet. But hey, I've got my ways. And by ways, I really mean YouTube. But seriously, it's amazing. This performance is one of the most amazing things I've seen in a while. So raw and real. I dare you not to want to cry.

2. LACE SHORTS! Especially these from Mikkat Market, which is another obsession, but that's another topic for another list for another time. But seriously, I'm foaming at the mouth over these. And I say this as I'm sitting on my couch wearing a lace shirt. I think I'm sensing a trend.

1. This blog! Okay, so that might be a lie. But I created the blog today and I'm pretty excited about it. Maybe it's not one of my favorite things yet (because let's face it--it's not anything yet), I'm excited by the prospect of it. Who knows if it will go anywhere? (Hint: it probably won't.) But it's always worth a short.

And in honor of my first post, here are five things I've become hyper aware of ever since starting this blog:
1. My use of unnecessary parenthesis
2. The amount of times I start sentences with "but," "okay," and "but seriously." I promise I'll work on that, and spice it up with some sentence structure once I get going.
3. How many links does one post need? Honestly.
4. Should I be counting down or up? I'm really concerned about this one.
5. While I was writing about mints, I had to eat one. Maybe that means that I'll have to buy those lace shorts before I finish this post...

Five Things!

Alright, guys, here's the only five things you need to know about me:

1. I probably don't know what I'm taking about.
2. I love lists.
3. I'm a really bored college kid.
4. Five is my favorite number.
5. I just started this blog.

Okay, I guess I'll give you more. But seriously, that's basically the gist. I love making lists of any and everything; particularly lists of five, because five is my favorite number. I know my top 5 everything. Seriously, test me. Top five songs of all time? I have that list. Top five ice creams? Don't mess with an expert.

I guess another thing you should know about me is that I love fashion, and that is primarily what this blog is going to be about. I'm not claiming to you that I'm an expert on all things fashion, because let's face it: the days I  wear my ripped up leggings and crewneck sweatshirt are sometimes the best days. But every girl likes to feel fancy and look nice. I like to feel fancy and look nice most of the time.

I read a lot of fashion blogs and fashion magazines, and as of late, it has triggered an obsession. And guess what? This is going to be the outlet of that obsession. But it's not just going to be fashion. Get ready to read a lot of lists about a lot of awesome things. I hope you're ready for it, but I'm not sure you are.

Hell, I'm not even sure I am.

Anywhooo, welcome! And I hope you enjoy what we have here.
